Free Hearing and Speech Screenings
May 1–31, 2006
BHSM logoIn celebration of Better Hearing and Speech Month (May), The Hearing and Speech Agency invited people of all ages -- who suspect a hearing, speech, or language problem -- to schedule a free hearing or speech screening. One in six Americans has a hearing, speech, or language problem -- a condition that makes it difficult to communicate with others. Untreated, these problems can limit people at home, school, and work. Anyone, of any age, can have or develop an impairment of the ability to hear, speak, or understand effectively. If you suspect you may have a hearing or speech problem, don't wait until next May, contact The Hearing and Speech Agency's Clinical Service department today. We are open Mon.-Fri. (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) To schedule an appointment, call (410) 318-6780.

Vibe ’06!
May 4, 2006
Vibe '06 logoIn May 2006, The Hearing and Speech Agency launched its first major fundraiser since its founding in 1926. More than 300 guests were in attendance and they were captivated by WJZ-TV’s weathercaster Bob Turk, who shared stories of his experience with hearing loss and a cochlear implant. Vibe ’06! took place at the National Aquarium and featured the Animal Planet Australia exhibit, Australian-themed food and cocktails, and live and silent auctions that helped raise $60,000 for the agency. Vibe ’07! is in the works, so stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, call the agency if you or your company is interested in sponsoring, advertising, or volunteering for Vibe ’07!
