Student
Success Story
High Road Upper School student Trista, 19 has a rose scented
success story. She came to High Road in 1999, and has blossomed
into a self-assured young lady with the acquired skills necessary
to work off-campus in a glower shop in her hometown of Jamesburg.
For the past year Trista has been employed at Sweet William
& Thyme, a successful town florist. Her duties include general
maintenance, flower care and preparation, arranging and checking
stalk and taking phone orders. In many instances she must exhibit
the ability to deal appropriately with the general public.
Trista feels that the training and career preparation that she
receives at High Road Upper School has been instrumental in
assuring her readiness for this job. She is a valued employee,
and hopes to remain employed in this position for a few years.
In the future she intends to stay involved in the floral field
and perhaps one day own her own shop.
Trista’s smooth transition from school to work in her
community makes her a shinning example of the benefits of our
Transitional Program. We are very proud of her achievements.
