About the School
High Road School of Fairfield originated in Bridgeport Ct. in
October 2000. In June 2001 we relocated to Norwalk Ct. to better
serve our population. This school serves all school systems
in Fairfield County. Here at High Road School of Fairfield our
academic curriculum caters to a broad spectrum of individual
needs. We provide services to children from ages 6 to 21 and
their families. We currently have 11 students. At High Road
School of Fairfield we have a highly experienced staff. Our
staff consists of a principle, 3 teachers, 3 teacher assistants
all who have come highly recommended, a social worker, a secretary,
a nurse, a speech therapist and an occupational therapist. We
have brought all of our experiences collectively together to
form a great team for our students.
Our well-rounded educational program provides low student to
staff ratio in classrooms, personalized curriculums for every
student and excellent tutorial instruction. In conjunction with
each students sending school district, our special educators
help to set educational goals and implement each student’s
individual educational plan. As part of each student’s
educational plan, we provide technical computer services as
well as transitional services. During these times each student
learns different effective social skills and coping skills.
Our transitional services also provide our students with computer
literacy and job preparedness.
Student Success Story
Tom is one of our most outstanding students. He has demonstrated
his leadership abilities after his brief adjustment to the program.
He has steadily improved in his ability to create and maintain
connections with his peers and adults. Tom strives to be the
best at our school. Currently Tom is on Level Blue, Day 95,
in our Behavior Modification System and still going strong.
Since Tom’s first day he has made steady progress in our
educational program around math, reading, comprehension and
vocabulary skills. His grades have continuously increased. By
far Tom’s most outstanding accomplishment has been his
ability to organize and express his ideas both written and orally.
