Looking for Energy Efficient Windows? It’s SIMPLE…

The ENERGY STAR label the symbol for energy efficiency - makes choosing high performance, energy efficient windows simple. Consumers no longer need to be concerned with companies claiming their windows have this R-value, that air-infiltration or boasting about other confusing or misleading data. A window with the ENERGY STAR label is your assurance that it is a tested and certified high performance product that can significantly reduce annual home energy bills. ENERGY STAR is a program of the U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency.

WeatherMaster is a proud partner of ENERGY STAR and encourages homeowners to consider ENERGY STAR labeled products in their remodeling and home improvement plans.

SPECIAL NOTE:
When checking U and SHGC values, make sure they are “WHOLE WINDOW” values, not “GLASS” or “CENTER OF GLASS” ratings. ENERGY STAR criteria only uses whole window values which are more difficult to attain, and more closely represent the energy efficiency of a window.

Interesting Facts: Money Isn’t All You’re Saving

  • If all residential windows in the United States were replaced with ENERGY STAR qualifying models, the nation would save $134 billion in energy costs over the next 15 years.
  • The reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from these purchases would be equivalent to reducing gasoline consumption by 120 billion gallons, taking 17 million cars off the road, or preserving 142 million acres of trees.
  • ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors also provide a host of benefits, including: increased comfort, noise reduction and protection against sun damage to carpet, wood floors, furniture, fabrics and artwork in your home.
