To become an active participant in
society children must be equipped with a strong understanding
of social skills. Students receive social skills training
indirectly and directly at the High Road Schools. Our
staff model appropriate interactions and student are held
accountable for proper treatment of peers and staff. In
many instances staff coach students through successful
communications with peers and staff. Our direct social
skill programs use activity-based lessons to teach the
skills of cooperation, accepting criticism, conflict resolution,
anger management, responsibility and independence. The
supportive environment at High Road School provides students
with a sold foundation in social skills, paving the way
for a successful future.
