We create a learning environment that guarantees success. We start by helping the student master achievable skills. Once the student achieves that success, we get him or her excited about learning. Gradually we introduce more challenging material helping the student to believe in himself or herself as a capable, confident learner.

We provide the students with many incentives to succeed academically and to foster the excitement of learning. Students are given constant and immediate reinforcement for doing a good job. Every student is held responsible for completing academic work as a part of the behavior management system. A student must be participating in learning to receive the awards and incentives that are built in to the program. Here at the High Road School we attempt to make learning fun. Sometimes individual classes or the whole school will participate in learning competitions where students can earn prizes, pizza parties and rewards for academic gains and participation.

Our students have the chance to earn their way to Honor Roll and certificates of achievement! All aspects of our program are tailored to the student, including incentives. We will work with each child on a one-on-one basis to find out what is a motivator and incentive for that child.

This weekend I got my daughter’s first report card and it brought tears to my eyes. Not only did she make the honor roll; she has zero absence and zero tardiness. All this coming from a kid who last fall decided she was no longer going to school”
